Kawakawa grows in the damp edges of the bush. We gather leaves by hand, a few from each plant, and leave the rest to keep growing.

Four walls of one whare
Hauora is wellbeing in the whole-person sense. Our range is organised the way Te Whare Tapa Whā describes it: body, mind, family and spirit, each holding the others up.
A kitchen bench, a bush track, and a lot of patience
IHI Hauora began with one jar of balm made for our own family. The kawakawa came from the bush behind the house, the beeswax from a neighbour, and the recipe from trial, error and a lot of advice from the aunties.
We still make everything the same way, only in slightly bigger pots. Every jar carries a batch number and we can tell you the week it was poured.
